Hello to all who read this!! Yes, I know it has been awhile! I really do have the best of intentions. As the title indicates....I am so excited it is summer!!!! We are doing minimal schoolwork, it is triathlon season (which is exciting to me), and I just love the beach, pool, playing etc. Last weekend was homeschool convention, it was invigorating and as always mesmerizing to see how much curriculum is out there. I have made my selections and excited to implement them next year...but not excited enough to start before August!! I will truly be teaching three distinctly different levels this coming year which will be fun but a challenge. I will try to impart my love for writing to my children...we will see how that goes.
My first triathlon of this season is Sunday. I am a little nervous or I guess apprehensive but overall excited and looking forward to it. I swam with the sharks last night one time before the real thing, and took a little jaunt tonight for mental peace!! I have promised myself to train really hard before the next one so that I can feel like its a race for time...I have no such aspirations for this weekend. I am approaching this one as fun...AKA ...did not train hard enough for time!
Well, I would say I will update soon...but I guess I will say I will TRY!!! Until then take care!!!

Hello everyone!
I thought I would post in festive red because it is Cinco de Mayo! Yes, the boys and I did celebrate with tacos, guacamole, chips and salsa. We hung decorations and wore sombreros. I will post a slide show next showing some pics of our celebration. Yesterday was Mitchell's birthday and it was another full event with all decisions made by Mitchell as he was "king for a day." We started out with doughnuts (do you get the feeling they don't get a ton of sugar!), we then went to church, out for a round of mini golf, played some video games and then celebrated with ALL of the family and ate more cake. It was nice to return to normal eating today instead of the sugar frenzy chosen by the boys.
Hope you enjoy the photos and it is time to get everyone in bed!
Adios!!

Surprise!!! I am posting text and photos!! Today is Prestons birthday. He is six which as always makes me reflect on the speed at which time flies. He was king for a day. But the poor little king was so tired from last night that he could hardly keep his eyes open for half of the day. However, we had cinnamon rolls for breakfast, PJ's for lunch and a cookout for dinner. They indulged in a fair amount of time on the new Wii they received for their birthdays and then the movie of choice was, of course nothing but Star Wars (of course always my personal favorite!! ) Tomorrow, my sweet Mitchell turns 10. So he will be king for the day. Yet another day of reflection, joy, and sadness (for mom) There is a verse I wanted to share however, it has left me. Tomorrow I will post it along with new photos. Until then

Obviously I have to get better at updating
Well, I have not updated in about 2 weeks and a friend reminded me that I am pretty much bad at this blogging thing. So my new goal is to put new pictures on by the end of this weekend since 50% of my kids have birthdays this weekend. I also want to add music and blog more than once every 14 days. We are taking the weekend off of tennis to do whatever the birthday boys want in that we opt for letting them be "king for a day" instead of a party.
Today I began my intense training for my next triathlon in 4 weeks. We did total body weightlifting (upper and lower) I ran 3 miles and then biked 15. However, on about mile 8 my chain popped off . I have been putting off those bike maintenance classes for about12 months now...so I learned my lesson today. Luckily, two helpful guys stopped assessed the situation and popped it back on. Guess I will be signing up for a class SOON!!
Well, I will update soon...by the end of the weekend WITH PHOTOS!!!
